Ways to Train Your Legs at Home

The number one commandment in strength training is thou shall not forget the wheels. If you skip leg days too often, you will no longer be pointed at in the gym for your awesome physique. Instead, you will be gawked at for having the large arms with the smallest legs. Granted, some of us have a tough time getting our legs to become bigger, but that doesn’t mean you should give up on training them completely. Below are three ways to make your legs grow from the comfort of your own home.

Lunges

You can do walking lunges from one side of the room to the next and your legs will get stronger over time. If you want to make them even tougher, hold a pair of dumbbells while you are doing them. Pick out an area in your house that is mostly clear of clutter and perform the walking lunges for a few minutes a day. And don’t worry about that pain that will hit you the day after training them for the first time. Those achy legs will start improving over time.

Climb the Stairs

Who needs a Stairmaster when you have steps in your house already? Pick out a good staircase with a lot of steps and do several sets until you are out of breath. Not only will it get your legs stronger, but it is great cardio that will take your breath away. Just imagine yourself as Rocky when running up those stairs!

Get Exercise Equipment for Your Home

If you are truly interested in getting those hulking legs that men and women are impressed with, it may require adding a bit of exercise equipment to your home. A great decision would be to buy a squat rack to do your exercise at home. Not only can you, of course, perform squats, but you can also do deadlifts, military presses, pull-ups, and a whole variety of exercises. Plus, you can actually curl in the squat rack without people yelling at you. You wouldn’t be able to do that in a commercial gym!

 

As always, your diet is important when trying to add serious muscle. Make sure you are taking enough protein in daily as protein builds muscle when you combine it with strength training. A couple protein shakes will help with this as you continue to build your body from the ground up.
